eight

this week is National Eating Disorders Awareness Week and i am so excited to be able to help get the word out there about how serious and REAL eating disorders are in the lives of so many women in the world today. eating disorders are not about food, they're an outward symptom of other issues going on, and how it all takes a toll on someone's mental well being. eating disorder prevention simply comes down to what makes you feel good as a person on the inside-not what you look like on the outside. if nothing else, take part in supporting NEDAW by consciously doing things for yourself this week (and every week!) that make you feel good on the inside. here are some of my favorites...
Laughing so hard your face hurts, taking a hot, hot shower, taking a drive on a pretty road, listening to your favorite song on the radio over and over again, lying in bed listening to the rain outside, waking up s l o w l y, hot towels fresh out of the dryer, enjoying a chocolate milkshake (or vanilla or strawberry!), taking a bubble bath, giggling, a good conversation with a friend you haven't talked to as recently as you would've liked to, taking a nap at the beach, finding a 20 dollar bill in your coat from last winter, laughing at yourself, midnight phone calls that last for hours, running through sprinklers, laughing at an inside joke, laughing for absolutely no reason at all, remembering good times with friends, accidentally overhearing someone say something nice about you, waking up and realizing you still have a few hours left to sleep, a first kiss (either the very first or with someone new), making new friends or spending time with old ones, playing with a puppy, having someone play with your hair, sweet dreams, hot chocolate, road trips with friends, swinging on swings, making eye contact with a cute stranger, making chocolate chip cookies, gettting a handwritten letter through old fashioned snail mail, holding hands with someone you care about, running into an old friend and realizing that some things (good or bad) never change, watching the expression on someone's face as they open a much desired present, watching the sunrise, getting out of bed every morning and being grateful for another beautiful day, knowing that somebody misses you, getting a hug just when you need it most, knowing you've done the right thing, no matter what other people think, and being happy with the fact that no one can be you as well as you can!
what makes you feel good inside? :)
