one hundred forty three

this is one of my favorite videos, but i was a little hesitant to post it. i can't seem to pinpoint why. therefore, here are my thoughts: am i all about recovery? you bet. but i am also about being a bit edgy and realistic in realizing that it's not all rainbows and butterflies all the time. there is a lot of reality that we skew and a lot that we don't have the option of ignorantly avoiding. so my view is to recognize it's influence and learn to rise above it. i think this video walks the line perfectly in capturing both sides of the widespread dilemma of addiction and entrapement in superficiality in today's world. i recognize that sometimes we can't help who we are, but we CAN help what we do. so here's the deal, i'm going to post it in hopes that it may be a positive thing, but if for any reason any one gets triggered, PLEASE just turn it off (no, you don't need to watch it till the very end just to make sure it was or wasn't as triggering as you intially thought it would be) and then let me know your feedback. i will happily take it down. peace out darlings...

So, based on what you've written about this video, I'm really curious and just want to watch it. But... I will have to wait until I'm the only one home because if my mom and brother hear me watching a video online, they will want to see it... and I'm not sure this is the video for them. And watching a video without the sound on, which is what I often try to do when I'm curious about a video on someone's blog or MySpace, can be pretty much unenlightening. I tried to watch a video you posted on here a while back without the sound on--it was something with people who had words written on them kind of dancing around or something like that, but I couldn't figure out what was supposed to be going on! Far too confusing for my feeble mind....

abs,
you are too funny! the video with bodies was way random. it's a version of the song Stronger, and the bodies were written with the lyrics of the song so as it played they were flashing the lyric to the camera. i just thought it was crazy that they took the time to learn/do/and film it! but yeah, it definitely wouldn't make much sense to watch it with the audio off! and i think its the song that really makes this vid, so it's worth waiting to watch! :) i'd love to hear what you think once you've seen it...

i see why you were a little worried to post it, but i think it's awesome. i love the fact that it's not completely focused on only women, but there are guys on here too, and that the pictures aren't on there forever, so you just get a glimps. we all know what it looks like, but to be reminded it's not what we want, even if we think it is. i hope no one is upset by it, cause it's truly awesome. but then again, so are you. i love you lover face.

You've shown me this video before, and I think it's fantastic. AND
I think you should keep it up no matter what - it's your blog!

Alana,

I like the feel of your blog. It has a particular characteristic that drawn me to it. But to be honest, I also checked it out, because your location said "Seychelles." But I was disappointed not to see any direct reference(s) to the country on your blog.

Anyhow, keep up the good work.

Kind regards, Jose.
